Team History[edit]
The Lancaster Scouts were one of the original members of the Frontier League in 1993. They lacked a permanent ballpark, having to share Beavers Field with teams from the local campus of Ohio University, which forced them to use various high school fields in the area of Lancaster, OH for some home games. The team was not particularly successful on the field either, but did manage to finish first in the second half of their second season, in spite of an unispiring overall record. They won their first round playoff series over the Chillicothe Paints but were beaten by the Erie Sailors in the finals.
After the season, the team moved to Evansville, IN, where it became the Evansville Otters.
