Lambuth University ceased operations in June 2011 following several years of financial difficulties. During the summer of 2011, The University of Memphis acquired the Lambuth University campus and began offering four-year degrees there on August 29, 2011. The campus is now known as The University of Memphis - Lambuth Campus.
