Biographical Information[edit]
Lafayette Currence pitched in eight games for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1975, going 0-2, 7.71. With the Brewers, he was 18 years younger than teammate Hank Aaron and four years older than teammate Robin Yount.
He and Lafayette Henion are the only major leaguers (through 2019) remembered with the first name Lafayette, although three others' real first names were Lafayette - Lave Cross, Lave Winham, and Fresco Thompson.
Currence went 15-6 for the Danville Warriors in 1974 and 10-6 for the Thetford Mines Miners in 1975.
