Biographical Information[edit]

Lacy James pitched in the minor leagues from 1940 to 1942, from 1946 to 1951 and from 1953 to 1954. Seasons of note include 1946, when he went 22-7 with 28 complete games and a 2.78 ERA in 31 games for the Concord Weavers; in 243 innings, he had 247 strikeouts. He led the North Carolina State League in wins and strikeouts that year. He then went 13-11, 4.39 with 17 complete games in 1947 and 16-13, 3.11 with 23 complete games in 1948. He led the Tri-State League with 213 strikeouts in 1948. After a down year in 1949, James went 16-9, 3.64 with 19 complete games in 1950 and 14-12, 3.04 with 14 complete games in 1951. After missing 1952, he went 13-12, 3.47 with 16 complete games in 1953.

Overall, James won at least 108 games in his career.

He served in the United States military from 1943 to early 1946.
