Biographical Information[edit]

He played with the New York Giants and St. Louis Terriers for three seasons (1912-1915) and continued in minor league ball until 1922.

Kirby appeared in a handful of contests with the American Association's St. Paul Saints in 1917, including the season opener against the Milwaukee Brewers in a game played at Milwaukee's Borchert Field on April 11th. Playing right field, Kirby had two hits batting out of the clean-up position, including a double, in three at-bats, and was credited with one putout. Milwaukee shut out the Saints, 4-0, but St. Paul went on to tie for second place in the league standings, second to the Indianapolis Indians.

He lived in Lansing, MI for 40 years, working for the city parks department there, and was a school patrol officer seven years. He died at age 71 in hospital at Lansing and is buried at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka, MI.
