Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kyle Stroup played in the Boston Red Sox minor league system in 2009, 2011 and from 2013 to 2014. He was taken by the club in the 50th round of the 2008 amateur draft as the very last pick overall. The signing scout was Chris Mears.

He was befallen by numerous injuries throughout his career and, after posting a 8.25 ERA in 18 relief appearances for the Salem Red Sox in 2014, was released by the big league club. Perhaps his best year was 2011, when he went 6-6 with a 3.67 ERA in 21 games for the Greenville Drive.
