Kyle Stark earned a law degree from the University of Toledo then received an MBA from St. Bonaventure University. He was pitching coach at St. Bonaventure in 2003-2004.

In 2004, he joined the Cleveland Indians Baseball Operations department. He became Assistant Farm Director for the Indians in 2006. In November 2007, he was hired as the Director of Player Development for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
