Biographical Information[edit]

Kyeong-heom Yeon played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 6 years.

Yeon was drafted by the Hanwha Eagles in the 12th round of the 2002 KBO draft, but he decided to go to college first. He represented South Korea in the 2005 Asian Championship, and he joined the Eagles in 2006. Yeon only hit .203/.277/.390 with 9 homers in his first season, so he mainly stayed in the minors in 2007 and he only played 36 games with the big club. He recorded a .245/.317/.443 batting line with 4 homers in 2008, and he improved to .253/.337/.414 with 11 homers in 2009. He crushed the 20,000th home run in KBO history on July 16 against the Lotte Giants. Yeon missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he was 11-for-62 in 2012. He only got 4 appearances in 2013, then he announced his retirement. Yeon was a scout of the Eagles from 2014 to 2015.

Overall, Yeon hit .233/.310/.393 with 180 hits and 26 homers in 6 seasons in the KBO.
