Kwang-hoe Kang was a second-round pick of the Taepyungyang Dolphins in 1990. He was 0 for 3 with a run in 1990. He next surfaced in 1993 with the Ssangbangwool Raiders, going 2 for 4 with a steal and a run. He played 18 games in 1994, presumably as a pinch-runner or defensive sub (outfield) mostly as he had only three at-bats, getting one hit and three runs. He finished his playing career at 3-for-10 with five runs.
He became a KBO umpire the year after his playing career ended. He was named KBO Umpire of the Year in 2007. He worked the 2020 Olympics.
