Biographical Information[edit]

After serving in the Navy during World War II, Knute Dobkins attended Butler University, where he played baseball and football. Following graduation, he played two seasons of minor league ball. For the 1947 Kingston Ponies, he hit .296/?/.447 in 53 games. As a backup outfielder for the '48 Richmond Roses, he fell to .238 with a .352 slugging percentage. He later spent many years working in law enforcement and was active in Democratic politics. He retired to Florida, where he died at age 90.
