Biographical Information[edit]
Kit McKenna pitched in the majors in 1898 and 1899. In 1899, he was with the Baltimore Orioles, in the first year that John McGraw was a manager. McKenna threw 8 wild pitches in 8 games, but otherwise was more effective than he had been in 1898.
He was referred to as "McKenna the silent" by the New York Evening Telegram, April 22, 1899.
He had been very successful during three years with the Brockton Shoemakers.
"Pitcher McKenna, of the Brockton club was purchased by President Ebbets on June 30. The (sic) is the third player bought by the Brooklyn club from the Brocktons." - Sporting Life, July 9, 1898
