Biographical Information[edit]
Kiichiro Nomoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Nomoto joined the Nishi-Nippon Pirates in 1950, and he went 11-19 with a 4.39 ERA that season. He was 4th in losses in the Central League, tied with Kozo Naito and Norio Furuya. Nomoto then went to the Nishitetsu Lions after the Pirates dissolved, and he went 4-3 with a 1.93 ERA in 1951. He had a 4.16 ERA in 29 games in 1952, and he announced his retirement after he recorded a 2.47 ERA in 25 appearances in 1953. Nomoto later coached Ageo High School from 1958 to 1963 and from 1972 to 1983, Toyo University from 1964 to 1971 and Urawa Gakuin High School from 1984 to 1986.
Overall, Nomoto was 18-27 with a 3.62 ERA, struck out 150 and pitched 494 2/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
