Biographical Information[edit]
Ki-yeong Sung was a second baseman for the South Korean national team in the 1959 Asian Championship, when they had their best finish to that point with a Silver Medal. He and they repeated as Silver winners in the 1962 Asian Championship and then took Gold for the first time in the 1963 Asian Championship. He later coached at Sangmoon High School, Kyeongbuk High School, Daegu High School and Yeungnam University. He managed the Lotte Giants in the 1987 KBO (the KBO was not yet around during his playing days) and coached for the Taepyungyang Dolphins and Ssangbangwool Raiders and scouted for the Samsung Lions.
