Biographical Information

Kevin Winn played one season in the minors. His father Earl Winn has been a long-time scout and his brother Dennis Winn also played in the minors.

Kevin was 11 for 38 with a double, triple and three walks as a freshman in college in 2006. He hit .243/.322/.340 in 48 games in 2007. As a junior, he batted .295/.358/.365 with 36 runs in 50 games. His senior year, he was much better - .380/.444/.606, 51 R, 63 RBI in 51 G. He was 9th in the Western Athletic Conference in hits (81), 8th in RBI and tied Mike Sodders for 6th in doubles (19). The San Diego Padres took him in the 26th round of the 2009 amateur draft. He split the summer between the Eugene Emeralds (.242/.295/.274 in 25 G) and the Lake Elsinore Storm (5 for 21, 2 2B). He fielded .948 in 20 games at 2B and .927 in 12 games at SS.
