Biographical Information[edit]
Kevin Sweeney has been an umpire.
A basketball player in college, Sweeney became a minor league umpire in 1998 (having worked the independent leagues in 1997), starting in the Pioneer League. He made it to the Northwest League in 1999, 2000-2001 California League, 2001 Eastern League, 2002 Texas League and 2003-2006 Pacific Coast League. He worked major league spring training in 2006. After retiring from the minors, he worked college leagues, including the NCAA Regionals starting in 2012. He worked the 2012 World Junior Championship then was behind home plate in the opener of the 2015 Premier 12.
