Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Strohschein is an outfielder in the Washington Nationals organization.

He began his career with Tennessee Technological University in 2016, putting up a slash line of .393/.447/.707 with 15 home runs and 73 RBI in 55 games. In 2017, he hit .292/.351/.511 with 14 home runs and 60 RBI in 62 games and in 2018, he hit .406/.463/.713 with 18 home runs and 65 RBI in 57 games. Going into 2018, he had been ranked one of the top players to watch in the Ohio Valley Conference. In 2019, he batted .382/.447/.691 with 15 home runs and 47 RBI in 54 games.

He also played eight games for the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in 2016, hitting .194/.229/.194 with no home runs and two RBI. With the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod League in 2017, he hit .247/.299/.326 with one home run and 11 RBI in 30 games.

He has earned numerous honors, including Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Freshman Player of the Year, 1st Team College Freshman All-American, Ohio Valley Conference All-Conference Team, Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Year. He was a Golden Spikes Award nominee for 2018.

He was taken by the Washington Nationals in the 21st round of the 2019 amateur draft and signed with the team on June 13, 2019.
