Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Kevin Scott played in the Houston Astros minor league system from 1989 to 1992. He was taken by the club in the 32nd round of the 1989 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher James Hurst, and was signed by scout Dan Huston. Speedy for a backstop, he stole at least 10 bases in each of his first three seasons, posting totals of 13, 17 and 12, respectively. 1990 was his best campaign, as he had 29 doubles and 126 hits in 129 games for the Asheville Tourists. Overall, he slashed .250/.304/.323 with 8 home runs, 158 RBI and 53 stolen bases in 436 games.
He also played for the Melbourne Bushrangers in the Australian Baseball League.
