Biographical Information[edit]

The New York Mets selected catcher Kevin Parada with the 11th pick of the 2022 amateur draft out of Georgia Tech; the pick was compensation for their failure to sign Kumar Rocker, their top choice in the previous year's draft. Parada was coming off a great college career, having been a unanimous All-American in his final college season, as well as the winner of the Buster Posey Award as the best collegiate catcher in the country. He hit .361 with 28 homers and 88 RBIs in 60 game that season.

He began his pro career in 2022 with the FCL Mets before getting a promotion to the St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League after three games. Between the two stops, he hit .275 in 13 games. In 2023, he started off a t St. Lucie then receive two successive promotions, first to the Brooklyn Cyclones of the South Atlantic League, then to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies of the Eastern League. In a total of 105 games, he hit .248/.324/.428 with 14 homers and 54 RBIs and was named a Mets organizational All-Star. He then played in the Arizona Fall League and was named to appear in the Rising Stars Game.

In 2024, he spent a full season at Binghamton, playing 115 games. However, his hitting fell off significantly as he ended up at .214/.304/.359 with 13 homers and 43 RBIs. He also struck out 153 times in 398 at-bats.
