Kevin Kocks

Kevin Kocks has coached college baseball.

An infielder during his college playing days, Kocks was head coach of Bellarmine University from 1986-1991, going 157-133. From 1992-1995, he was an assistant coach at the University of Louisville. He also was a part-time scout for the Kansas City Royals from 1987-1996. In 1997, he was an assistant coach at New Mexico State University.

When Spalding University started their baseball program in 2000, Kocks was head coach, going 20-50. They improved to 35 wins in 2001 then 56-19 and a trip to the 2002 NAIA College World Series. The school was 55-21 and made the 2003 NAIA College World Series, then improved to 57-11 in 2004. In 2005, the school was 54-23 and made the 2005 NAIA College World Series. After going 35-28 in 2006, Kocks left Spalding State for the head job at Cleveland State University. The school went 14-44 his first year, then 22-31 in 2008 and 21-31 in 2009. They fell to 12-43 in both 2010 and 2011, then Cleveland State cut baseball due to budgetary limitations.

Kocks became head coach at Culver-Stockton College in 2012. He led the school to a 171-238-1 record through 2019 at which point his contract was not renewed [1].
