Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin King pitched in 34 games in the majors during between 1993 and 1995.

Kevin was born in Atwater, CA, in central California near Merced, CA. Through 2019, he is the only major leaguer born in Atwater, although over a dozen have been born in nearby Merced.

King attended high school and college in Oklahoma. He spent much of his first four pro seasons in A+ ball, and came to the majors for the first time in 1993, with the Seattle Mariners, after having looked good in a minor league season split between A+ and AA levels.

Kevin had a good WHIP of 1.114 in 1993 with the Mariners, although he gave up 3 home runs in 11 2/3 innings. The next season with the Mariners, in 1994, his WHIP was much higher, although he cut the home runs down to zero in 15 1/3 innings. In his last major league season, 1995, he also gave up no home runs although his WHIP was high.

He spent most of 1995 split between the AA Port City Roosters and the AAA Tacoma Rainiers. Thereafter, he was in independent ball.
