Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Coffman had his best career start on May 11, 1988 against the Montreal Expos. Taking the hill for the Atlanta Braves, he pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing only three hits and an earned run while walking five and striking out one. It was the only time that he would pitch more than 6 innings in a start; Hall of Famer Bruce Sutter got the save. Apart from that day, Kevin's career was rough sledding. In 31 games and 110 2/3 innings, he finished 4-11, 6.42 with 95 walks to 47 strikeouts for the Braves and Chicago Cubs over parts of three seasons.
