Biographical Information[edit]
Kensaku Someda completed the first perfect game in the Kansai Big 6 University Baseball League in 2004, and he was 15-9 with a 1.12 ERA in 4 years in college. He won a MVP and 2 Beats Nines, and he represented Japan in the 2004 World University Baseball Championship. Someda was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he tied an Eastern League record when he struck out 7 straight batters in his first season. However, he only pitched a game in each of the 2005 and 2007 seasons for the big club before he announced his retirement in 2008; he allowed one run and three walks in 1 2/3 IP.
