Kenichiro Okamoto has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Okamoto was signed by the Hankyu Braves in 1955.[1] He played the outfield and first base in his rookie year, hitting .268/.328/.375 with 4 homers.[2] Okamoto improved to .240/.316/.337 with 8 homers in 1956. 1957 was Okamoto's career year. He played all 132 games, recorded a .271/.371/.411 batting line and led the league in walks with 74. He won the only Best Nine award of his career as a first baseman. However, 1957 was the last productive season for Okamoto's career. He only batted .168/.259/.240 in 1958, and was used as backup infielder since this season. Okamoto announced his retirement after the 1963 season.
Overall, Okamoto had hit .238/.315/.340 in 9 seasons in NPB.
