Biographical Information[edit]
Ken Szotkiewicz played one season in the big leagues. A shortstop, he appeared in 47 games for the Detroit Tigers at age 23 in 1970. Cesar Gutierrez was the starting shortstop that year for the Tigers. Gutierrez lost his job in 1971 to Ed Brinkman, who kept it until 1974.
Szotkiewicz had come out of Georgia Southern College, which he attended at the same time as Vic Correll.
When he wasn't in the majors, he was in the minors from 1968 to 1974. He had a couple of knee surgeries.
