Biographical Information[edit]
Second baseman Ken Peters played in the St. Louis Cardinals system in 1936 and 1937.
Peters was captain of the USC baseball team, having formed a middle infield with former captain Rod Dedeaux. With the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League in 1936, he batted .206/?/.253 with 14 doubles and 70 hits in 97 games and fielding .943 as their main second baseman. The next year, he was 1-for-6 in two games for the Mobile Shippers. Overall, he batted .205.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later was an educator, serving as principal of Montebello Senior High School (1945-1950) and Beverly Hills High School (1950-1959) and then superintendent of the Beverly Hills School District (1959-1982).
He died at the age of 98, one of the likely few remaining professional ballplayers from the 1930s.
