Biographical Information

Ken MacKenzie was the only pitcher on the original New York Mets, in 1962, to finish with a winning record as he went 5-4 on a team that famously went 40-120. Two other pitchers, Galen Cisco and Bob Miller, finished with a .500 record, but with only one and two wins respectively. He then went 3-1 on another dreadful Mets team in 1963. In 1965, with the Houston Astros, he was one of three Canadian pitchers in the team's bullpen, alongside Claude Raymond and Ron Taylor.

He was the head coach at his alma mater, Yale University from 1969 to 1978. He had gone 19-6 as a pitcher there and was second-team All-Ivy League in hockey.
