Biographical Information[edit]

Ken Huebner was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 31st round of the 1965 amateur draft and began his professional career that season. His breakout campaign was 1967, split between two clubs -- that year, he hit .313/.371/.462 with 10 home runs, 100 RBI and just 30 strikeouts in 431 at-bats.

He remained in the the Phillies system through 1968, then joined the Kansas City Royals organization. His first year there, he hit .324/.354/.423 with 4 home runs, 66 RBI and just 21 whiffs in 407 at-bats for the High Point-Thomasville Royals. He followed that with a .307/.346/.396 line with the Elmira Pioneers in 1970. He reached Triple A for the first and only time in 1971, with middling success.

Overall, Huebner hit .297/.342/.393 with 26 home runs, 356 RBI and just 139 strikeouts in 2,385 at-bats over 733 games.
