Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Keith Shepherd was taken by the Colorado Rockies 50th overall in the 1992 expansion draft. Colorado later traded him to the Boston Red Sox for minor league pitcher Brian Conroy.

In 1991 and 1992, he posted minor league ERAs of 1.68 and 2.30, respectively. From 1993 to 1996, the wheels totally fell off. In 1993, his mark with the Rockies was 6.98 and with Triple A Colorado Springs, it was 6.78. Between three minor league stops in 1994, it was 7.32. In 1995, he had a 36.00 ERA in two games with the Boston Red Sox and a 21.21 mark in 4 games at Triple A. In 1996, with the Baltimore Orioles, his ERA was 8.71.
