Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Keith Mayhew set Ferrum records for wins in a season (13) and career and most strikeouts in a season and career [1]. He was named a NCAA Division III All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 31st round of the 1995 amateur draft and went 0-1 with a 4.54 ERA in 24 games for the Eugene Emeralds that year. In 1996, with the independent Chillicothe Paints, he was 5-3 with a 3.55 ERA in 26 games.

He died at 43 years old of complications from pneumonia.
