Biographical Information[edit]

Kazunori Yamamoto has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Yamamoto did not win a game in college but was a 5th-round pick by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 2006 NPB draft. He was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in 12 outings (2 starts) as a rookie in 2007. He retired all four batters he faced in game 2 of the 2007 Japan Series, but the Fighters lost the Series to the Chunichi Dragons. He was in the minors in 2008 and saw limited time with the big club in 2009 (2 R in 2 1/3 IP) and 2010 (5.40, 8 BB in 10 IP). In 2011, he was dealt with Takayuki Takaguchi to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Tomohisa Nemoto. He was 1-0 with a 2.87 ERA in 14 outings that summer. His fastball has peaked at 89 mph.
