Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Karol Kwak played in the minor leagues from 1949 to 1955. In just his second professional campaign, 1950, he hit .296 with 19 home runs, slugging .523 in 108 games for the Eau Claire Bears. That induced the St. Louis Cardinals to take him in the Triple-A round of that year's Rule V Draft. He slashed .280/.417/.462 with 15 home runs, 86 RBI and 97 walks (to 53 strikeouts) between three clubs in 1951 and in 1952, he hit 12 home runs. The St. Louis Browns then took him in the A round of the 1952 Rule V Draft. With the Anderson Rebels in 1953, he had a career year, hitting .359/.452/.522 with 203 hits, 14 home runs, 117 RBI, 112 runs scored and 95 walks (to 35 Ks) in 147 games, leading the Tri-State League in batting average. He hit just 1 home run in 257 at-bats in 1954 and batted just .249 in 1955 to wrap up his career.

Overall, Kwak hit .293 with 798 hits and at least 70 home runs and 331 RBI in 787 games over 7 seasons.
