Kansai Independent League

Kansai.jpgThe Kansai Independent League was formed in Japan in 2008, with the first games being played in March 2009. [1] The four team league is designed to be a farm system for the larger Japanese baseball teams. [2]

Notable players include Eri Yoshida, the first female pro player in Japan. Young-pil Choi had a long career in KBO, with a stint in Kansai in the middle. Paul Wafula played for the Ugandan national team. Yasutomo Kubo played in the league after being an All-Star in NPB.

Teams[edit]

As of March 2009, the league has four teams. The Kishu Rangers play in Wakayama Prefecture [3], the Kobe 9 Cruise in Kobe, the Osaka Gold Villicanes in Osaka, and the Akashi Red Soldiers.
