Biographical Information[edit]

Jeong-min Lee has been a reliable pitcher for the Lotte Giants but is most famous for giving up one of the most well-known home runs in Asian baseball history.

Lee debuted for Lotte in 2002, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) in 11 innings. In 2003, he gave up six runs in nine innings. His second outing of the year was during the season finale, on October 2, in which he allowed Seung-yeop Lee's 56th homer of the season. That allowed Lee to pass Tuffy Rhodes, Sadaharu Oh and Alex Cabrera for the all-time single-season Asian home run record.

In 2004, Lee was 2-2 with a 5.51 ERA in 48 outings. He improved to 6-7 with 7 saves and a 3.82 ERA in 56 games for the 2005 Lotte Giants. In '06, the right-hander was 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA in 29 outings. He then missed two seasons due to military service.

Lee pitched for South Korea in the 2007 Baseball World Cup, going 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA. He tossed a scoreless inning against Thailand and allowed 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings against the Cuban national team. He got the start against Germany and beat them, holding them to one run in five innings. Versus Australia in the 5th/6th place game, he tossed 1 2/3 shutout relief innings.
