Biographical Information[edit]
Jun-hyuk Im played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 13 years.
Im was drafted by the KIA Tigers in the 2nd round of the 2003 KBO draft, and he mainly stayed in the minors for his first four seasons as he only pitched 14 games combined for the big club. He then had a 4.59 ERA in 40 games in 2008, then his EAR rose to 6.75 in 29 games in 2009. He missed most of the next two seasons due to military service, and he represented South Korea in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup. He posted a 3.00 ERA in four appearances in that event. Im's ERA was 7.71 in 7 games in 2012, and he only pitched one game for the big club in 2013. His ERA was 5.06 in 30 games in 2014, and he was turned into a starter in 2015. Im went 9-6 with a 4.10 ERA in 2015. The Tigers then traded him to the SK Wyverns for Hyo-jun Ko at the trade deadline in 2016, and Im went 1-4 with a 5.13 ERA for them. He notched 2 holds with a 4.57 ERA in 43 appearances in 2017, but he only pitched 6 games with a 7.36 ERA in 2018. He announced his retirement after the 2018 season.
Overall, Im was 19-22 with a 5.37 ERA, struck out 237 in 369 innings in 13 seasons in the KBO.
