Biographical Information[edit]

Juan Rodriguez played for the Puerto Rican national team in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup. Alternating between left field and DH, he went 7 for 20 with four home runs and nine RBI in five games. He led the event in home runs and was 6th in RBI (behind Nobuhiko Matsunaka, Nemesio Porras, Norman Cardoze, Victor Mesa and Hiroyuki Watanabe). Among those he outhomered were Cuban legends Omar Linares, Orestes Kindelan and Lourdes Gourriel Sr., future Japanese stars such as Matsunaka and Yoshitomo Tani and Korean star Byung-kyu Lee.
