Juan Casals
Juan Casals was a shortstop and outfielder in Spain for 20+ seasons, including time with the Picadero Jockey Club Barcelona. He was on the Spanish national team numerous times. In the 1954 European Championship (the first European Championship), he hit cleanup in the finale against Italy, going 1 for 4 with a run in a 7-4 loss. He was the starting shortstop and cleanup man in the 1955 European Championship; he was the event's leading hitter Spain won their only European Championship (through 2020).
Casals also represented Spain in the 1957 European Championship, 1958 European Championship and 1960 European Championship (winning Bronze in 1960).
