Biographical Information[edit]

Josimar Cubilla pitched for the Panamanian national team.

Cubilla debuted in Panama in Chiriquí Occidente with two shutout innings in 2006. He allowed 8 hits and 6 runs (2 earned) in 4 1/3 IP in '07. He next surfaced in 2011, going 0-3 with a 7.02 ERA. In 2012, though, he became the 22nd pitcher to throw a no-hitter in Panama's circuit, whiffing 17 in the process. He had a 2.24 ERA on the year and struck out 44 in 36 1/3 IP; the Panamanian Baseball Federation lists him at 30-0, which does not sound right as no other pitcher had more than 7 wins (he was presumably 3-0). He tied for 6th in the league in Ks. That season earned him a spot on Panama's squad for the 2013 Central American Games; they won the Silver Medal.

Moving to Bocas del Toro in 2013, he fell to 4-4, 4.78. He did not pitch in '14 then was 0-2 with a 11.25 ERA for Chiriquí Occidente in 2015. He did not pitch in the next two seasons.
