Biographical Information[edit]

Josh Conway was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 42nd round of the 2009 amateur draft from Smithsburg High School, but opted to attend Coastal Carolina University instead. He played three seasons with the Chanticleers before the Chicago Cubs drafted him in the 4th round of the 2012 amateur draft. Conway pitched in the Cubs' minor league system from 2014-2016, reaching High-A in his final season. Overall Conway had a 3-8 record with 3 saves and an ERA of 3.17. He went on to play a final season in 2017 with the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the independent American Association.

Conway returned to Coastal Carolina for the 2018 season as a student assistant coach while finishing his degree. The Baltimore Orioles hired him in 2019 as a development coach for the Bowie Baysox. He was slated for a pitching coach role with the Frederick Keys in 2020 before the minor league season was shut down by COVID-19. Conway was the pitching coach for the Aberdeen IronBirds in 2021 and the Baysox in 2022.
