Biographical Information[edit]
Myers was summoned from Wilmington to pitch on the final day of the season for the pennant-winning Philadelphia Athletics. He started the second game of a doubleheader against Washington on Oct. 7, The game was called after five innings by mutual consent, a 3-3 tie. The Philadelphia Record noted that Myers "was a bit wild, but on the whole controlled a swift assortment of curves" and that he pitched with a "speedy side-arm delivery." While Myers went 0-for-2 at the plate, he did drive in a run, scoring Monte Cross, who had tripled, on a fly out to center field.
