Biographical Information

Jose Marte played in the minor leagues from 2005-2010 and split his time equally between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations. Marte spent both 2009 & 2010 at AAA Reno, but never received a call to The Show. In his six minor league seasons, Marte had a 26-18 record with 40 saves and 4.52 ERA.

Marte joined the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2015 as a coach for the DSL Angels and moved to a pitching coach role in 2016. In recent years rookie level teams typically have at least two pitching coaches. Marte was paired with Nerio Rodriguez in 2016 and with Enrique González from 2016-2022. Marte and González shared pitching coach duties again in 2023-2024.
