Biographical Information[edit]
José Echeverría played from 1954 to 1968, with 7 seasons in the Mexican League, 3 in the Mexican Southeast League, 4 in the Arizona-Mexico League, 2 in the Mexican Pacific Winter League, and 4 seasons in various other leagues. In the Mexican League, he hit .323 with 49 homers and 300 RBI in 482 games. His best season there was 1960, in which he hit .369/17/131 for the Mexico City Tigres. His best season otherwise was 1958, when he hit .381/35/126 in 99 games for Chihuahua Dorados in the Arizona-Mexico League, leading the league in RBI.
