Biographical Information[edit]
José Soler pitched for the Puerto Rican national team.
He was the only Puerto Rican hurler with a 0.00 ERA in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, allowing two hits, two walks and one unearned run in 3 1/3 IP spread over three games, fanning three. Relieving Luis Cintrón with a 1-0 lead over Nicaragua in the 7th and two on, he did allow the game-tying hit to Dwight Britton. [1] He struggled a bit in the 2015 Pan American Games (4 2/3 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K) but still had an ERA better than the team mark. [2] In the 2015 Premier 12, he had a 4.15 ERA in two outings. He again had an ERA better than the team total. [3]
Soler turned pro in the winter of 2021-2022 with the RA12 team in the Puerto Rican League.
