José Santana pitched one game for the Dominican Republic in the 1992 Olympics. He had a tough assignment, facing Bronze Medal winner Japan. He lasted 2 1/3 IP and allowed 5 hits, two walks, two hit batsmen and six runs (five earned) while fanning one. Eugenio Valdéz took over in the 3rd of what would be a 17-0 loss. His 19.29 ERA was not the highest on the Dominican staff as Juan Viñas was higher.
