Biographical Information

José Orozco was the starting shortstop for the Nicaraguan national team in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. He opened their tourney by flying out against Yelmison Peralta of the Dominican national team and got his first hit off Miguel Rosario. He had a three-hit game in a win over Puerto Rico, finishing the Games at .313/.421/.313 with four runs in six games, fielding .950. He tied for 8th with 13 assists. In the 2024 Caribbean Series, he was 0 for 7 with a run, backing up Benjamín Alegría at short.
