Biographical Information

José Gómez was the main shortstop for the Venezuelan national team that won Silver at the 2013 Bolivarian Games; the teenager hit .167/.238/.167 with two runs and three RBI while fielding .952. All 3 of his hits came in one game against Guatemala. In the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, he backed up Rodolfo Cardona at short, going 0 for 4 with a walk and making three errors in seven chances afield.
