Biographical Information[edit]
José Baldiris played for the Colombian national team in the 1951 Amateur World Series, 1951 Bolivarian Games (winning Silver), 1952 Amateur World Series (the first Colombian to hit one out of Estadio Latinoamericano) and 1953 Amateur World Series. He led the Colombian championship in runs and homers in 1953 and 1954. He later was a civil engineer. His son Antonio Baldiris was in the Yankees chain in 1988 (possibly in the DSL, as his stats are not at B-R Register, which is lacking DSL stats from that era, but other sources do confirm his presence in the Yanks system)
