Biographical Information

Catcher and infielder Jorge Rivera played in the minor leagues from 1969 to 1973, then came back briefly in 1979 with the Puerto Rico Boricuas of the short-lived Inter-American League. He spent his entire career in the Kansas City Royals organization, except for 11 games with the Salem Pirates, a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate, in 1973. He later was a scout for the Toronto Blue Jays in Puerto Rico.

He died at age 64 and was buried on March 28, 2014 in Puerto Rico.
