Biographical Information[edit]

Jordan Gálvez was a minor league player.

Gálvez was signed by Pittsburgh Pirates scouts Rene Gayo and Orlando Covo in December 2009. He hit .309/.360/.369 as a 2B/3B for the 2010 VSL Pirates. Had he qualified, he would have been 10th in the Venezuelan Summer League in average. In 2011, he batted .308/.374/.375 for the club with 34 runs in 65 games as a utility infielder. He tied for second in the VSL with 7 sacrifice hits and was in the top 20 but not top 10 in average and OBP. In 2012, he was with the DSL Pirates 2 and slumped to .202/.272/.258 in his final season as a pro. Galvez had hit .281/.344/.343 in 157 minor league games, with 69 runs and 53 RBI. He fielded .963 in 74 games at 2B, .889 in 44 at 3B, .833 in 13 in LF and .984 in 12 at 1B.

Gálvez died at age 23 when a plane he was in crashed.
