Biographical Information[edit]
Joon Heo caught for the South Korean national team and in the Korea Baseball Organization.
He was a third-stringer behind Ki-moon Choi and San Song in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, striking out in his lone at-bat. [1] Drafted by the Hyundai Unicorns, he played two games but did not bat in 2005 and homered in his only plate appearance in 2006. As a backup to Dong-soo Kim in 2007, he hit .231/.268/.282 in 42 plate appearances over 35 games in 2007. The team became the Woori Heroes in 2008 and he hit .250/.250/.438 in 16 plate appearances. In 2009, he batted .246/.299/.319 in 79 plate appearances and 40 games.
The club changed identities again, becoming the Nexen Heroes in 2010. He hit only .163/.241/.184 in 57 plate appearances over 73 games, fielding .995 in a defensive sub role. He got a career-high 102 plate appearances in 2011 but eked out a .191/.265/.247 line. He then moved to the NC Dinos when they joined as an expansion team. He was 2-for-16 with a homer in 2013 and 5-for-29 with 3 doubles in 2014. He had hit .205/.266/.286 with 4 homers in 350 plate appearances over 263 KBO games.
He later coached Masan High School in 2015 then moved to Baeksong High School. [2]
