Biographical Information[edit]
San Song has played for the South Korean national team in a couple events. In the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he was 1 for 5 with 2 walks as the backup catcher to Ki-moon Choi. He began his pro career in 2005 with the KIA Tigers, hitting .264/~.324/.368 in 75 games for a good rookie year. He was just 9 for 40 with 4 walks and 2 doubles in 2006, though. In 2007, he bounced back a bit, hitting .245/~.294/.340 in 76 games.
Song played for South Korea in the 2007 Baseball World Cup, batting .300/.364/.400 but failing to throw out any of the 7 runners who tried to steal against him. San Song was back with KIA for 2008 but went only 1 for 19 with a double and 2 walks.
